There is much to explore around the SILENA, your soulful hotel. Immerse yourself in the history of other cultures, taste typical specialities, travel back in time to the Middle Ages or take a walk through picturesque alleys. Take the time to discover your surroundings and fill each moment with memories.

Bressanone – a place where city and mountains meet

Discover history up close in Bressanone, the oldest city in Tyrol. A combination of modernity and tradition, culture and shopping. The houses of the old city of Bressanone are joined together like colourful links in a chain. Whether it’s shoes, books or clothing: in Bressanone shopping is a personal experience.

Our tip: Local farmers offer fresh fruit at the regional farmer's market.

Brunico – the sporty alpine city

The small city of Brunico is the geographic, cultural and economic centre of the Puster Valley. Its historic alleys are among the most beautiful shopping streets in South Tyrol. You can also expand your horizon by visiting the internationally renowned Messner Mountain Museum RIPA at Brunico Castle or the beloved Folklore Museum in Teodone.

Our tip: Taste traditional dishes like Tirtlan, Erdäpflblattln and Äpfelkiachl.

Vipiteno – alpine city with charm

Stroll past magnificent bourgeois houses with characteristic oriel windows or through streets lined with shops, restaurants and bars. Culture enthusiasts will enjoy the sight of Gothic churches and medieval castles such as Reifenstein Castle in Campo di Trens.

Our tip: The Altstadt-Neustadt-Straße with its central Tower of the Twelve is especially impressive.

Bolzano – regional capital of South Tyrol

North and south, Mediterranean and Alps, historic and cultural riches converge to form an irresistible combination. While strolling along the 300-metre-long row of summer houses or sauntering over various promenades, you’ll hear all kinds of different languages, a characteristic feature of Bolzano.

Our tip: If you are in the mood for a coffee, we recommend visiting the Waag Café. On warm days, you can sit in front of the beautiful and historic Waaghaus building right in the heart of the old city. Then pay a visit to the Bolzano fruit market.

Merano – historic spa town

For more than 200 years, Merano has been a well-known destination for holiday-makers and those seeking recreation, famous for its beautiful weather, cuisine and varied leisure activities. A multitude of sights but also numerous museums and exhibits can be found spread across Merano.

Our tip: Take a walk along Tappeinerweg, Europe’s oldest spa promenade.
